Witness appeal following Saturday smash

Police are asking witnesses to a road crash on Saturday evening to come forward.
 
The accident closed the Welshpool-Shrewsbury A458 road close to Middletown from about 4.55pm with one person cut free from the three-car smash by fire fighters from Welshpool. Several people were taken to hospital.
 
“I’m hoping that anyone who may have witnessed this accident will get in touch,” said PC Louise Cook of the Mid Wales Roads Policing Unit. “I can be contacted on 101 at Newtown Police Station.”
