The Potter Group, the biggest privately owned waste management organisation in Wales, this week officially launched its new web presence.

The company based on Severn Road in Welshpool, unveiled a total of eight new websites with the main sites containing valuable information about recycling and waste management for the people of Powys and the Shropshire borders.

“The website has been set up to provide support for residents and businesses with their waste management and recycling queries,” said Mr James Potter, Managing Director of Potter Group.
We have been identified as main service providers by Powys County Council, and our transfer stations are recognised by national companies Veolia Environmental Services and Biffa Waste Services,” he added.
Residents can now locate their nearest recycling site and waste and recycling centre whilst traders can find out about refuse and recycling and much more information such as opening times.  The site can be accessed by logging onto www.potters.co.uk .

“The promotion of environmentally friendly waste management and recycling is high on the company’s agenda,” said Mr Potter. “The site will provide valuable information to the public and help increase recycling and composting levels.”

The Potter Group used local companies to develop their new internet presence.

The site was designed and built by Welshpool based Gloversure Ltd specialists in web design and development along with SMS and MMS applications.

The project was overseen and content managed by another Welshpool company, BreezePR, who were responsible for providing total content for the company’s eight new web sites.

The Potter Group is a third generation family run business which was originally established by Mr Gerald Potter for the recycling of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals. It operates out of a seven acre head office site at Potter’s Yard, Welshpool.
As a leading waste management and recycling company the Potter Group delivers sustainable waste management services and offers total waste management solutions
From recycling metals to smelting specialist alloys the company has grown and diversified into various fields as far apart as recycling, biomass energy production and aviation.
“Through our multi-purpose recycling infrastructure we provide an industry leading one-stop shop for all sustainable waste management solutions. Just because it is waste it does not mean it is waste that has to be buried,” said Mr Potter.
“We have created lasting partnerships with our customers through shared goals and remaining dedicated to creating a sustainable, renewable future through our commitment to excellence in customer care and in-depth industry knowledge.
“Our investment in innovation, technology and customer care is put to work on all our accounts, which means that local businesses can expect the same commitment to quality and service as our national account customers.”
The company has a wide variety of skips available with public waste and recycling centres at Welshpool, Newtown and Machynlleth, together with waste transfer stations at Welshpool and Brecon.
The group also has interests in readymix concrete supply through Powys Readymix, titanium technologies, a garage business and aviation charter hire with two helicopters based at the Mid Wales Airport at Welshpool with Potter Aviation.
All of the waste collected by Potters Waste Management that is not recycled, composted or re-used, goes to the company landfill site at Bryn Posteg near Llanidloes.
The landfill site has been receiving waste for more than 25 years.
