Welshpool High School pupils raised some valuable money for charity for being allowed to break school uniform rules for a day!
The pupils raised over £460 for charity and their physical education department after taking part in a national scheme that is promoting sport, healthy lifestyles and a famous sporting event.
They took part in the national Sport Your Trainers Day which is promoting sport, healthy lifestyles and next year’s Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
It allows pupils to wear their trainers to school along with their normal school uniform for a £1. The raised funds is split between the British Heart Foundation and the school’s PE department.
It was organised by the school’s Gold Young Ambassadors, Rhys Phillips and Alex Cawthra, and Silver Ambassadors Ewan Ellis and Emilie Gwilt.
The ambassadors have been given the task of promoting exercise and encouraging their peers to become more active within the school and the local community.
