Do you feel that you could benefit from physiotherapy but haven't had the chance to see your doctor to be referred yet?
Powys teaching Health Board says that accessing physiotherapy is now easier than ever, and is now running a new physiotherapy self referral scheme, across all physiotherapy departments in Powys.
To access this service, pick up a form from your GP or your local physiotherapy department.
The form contains a few questions about your general health and details of your problem. Your form will be assessed by a physiotherapist, and, if your referral is suitable, you will be sent a letter asking you to call and make an appointment.
This scheme allows you to be in control of your condition, and to gain the help you need without having to wait for an appointment with your GP first. So, be proactive, grab a form next time you're in the doctors' surgery and start the journey towards a more body aware, less painful life.
This service is not suitable for those under the age of 16, or for those with a neurological, breathing or gynaecological condition. If your referral is not found to be suitable, or the physiotherapist feels you would benefit from a visit to your GP first, you will be contacted and advised about what steps to take.
