Call for closer sports club collaboration
At this week’s full council meeting, Town Mayor, Cllr Nick Howells, said that he had spoken to most of the clubs based at Maesydre and had called for a meeting.
“I suggested, as a first instance, that we get representatives from the various clubs that make use of the recreation ground together to talk about collaboratively working together for the benefit of the town,” said Cllr Howells.
“That invitation has gone out to the various clubs and we are waiting for replies before arranging the meeting.”
He said among the clubs contacted are Welshpool Town Football Club, Welshpool Rugby Club, Welshpool Bowling Club and Waterloo Rovers Football Club.
