Following his historic general election victory last week, Montgomeryshire & Glyndwr’s first ever Labour MP says the work starts immediately, but opening an office will take time.
Steve Witherden hails from the Glyndwr part of the new constituency, and defeated five Montgomeryshire-based candidates in a campaign that saw Liberal Democrat and Conservatives dominance end.
In his first Monday morning in the job, Mr Witherden, a secondary school teacher by trade, is adjusting to his new post with a thanks to voters and by sharing his public contact information.
“Thank-you to everyone who has contacted me since my election,” he said. “I am continuing to get my office set up. I will update everyone soon on how best to contact me and when surgeries will be taking place. For now please contact contact@stevewitherden.wales.
“I am beyond humbled to have been elected MP for Montgomeryshire and Glyndŵr. A truly historic result – huge thanks to my endlessly supportive family, dedicated campaign team, and to voters for putting trust in me to bring change to our constituency.”
