Welshpool Medical Centre has again asked patients to refrain from using verbal abuse and aggressive behaviour “due to our current limited appointment availability”.
The facility issued the statement this morning after admitting that increased demand for their “limited resources” meant that appointments were harder to book at certain times.
“We understand the frustration many of our patients are experiencing due to our current limited appointment availability,” the doctors said in a joint statement.
“Due to increased demand and limited resources, appointments may be harder to book at certain times.”
The Medical Centre then outlined what was being done to alleviate the situation including:
· Same day urgent appointments being prioritised for patients with medical needs that cannot wait.
· Telephone consultations being offered when appropriate.
· Online services available for routine queries, repeat prescriptions and non-urgent advice.
· Reminding that pharmacists, NHS 111 and walk-in centres can often provide quicker help for minor conditions.
“We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this time,” the statement continued. “Please be aware verbal abuse or aggressive behaviour towards our staff will not be tolerated under any circumstances.”
