06/05/2025 @ 05:14

Police are seeking witnesses after an incident in March on the main road between Newtown and Welshpool led to traffic disruption and an arrest.

Dyfed-Powys Police have launched an appeal for information following a reported assault on the A483 road on Saturday, March 15. According to officers, a red Hyundai Getz stopped in the middle of the carriageway between Newtown and Abermule, where an altercation took place between a man and a woman outside the vehicle.

The incident, which occurred between 11.30am and midday, caused significant traffic to build up along the busy route.

Authorities confirmed that a man has been arrested on suspicion of common assault in connection with the incident and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Investigating officers are appealing to the public for assistance. They are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who was travelling along that stretch of the A483 at the time and may have witnessed the altercation or captured it on dash cam footage.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to contact Dyfed-Powys Police.
