How Welshpool will mark VE Day tomorrow

Following a busy weekend of VE Day activity, Welshpool will mark the actual anniversary of Victory in Europe with a number of events tomorrow (Thursday).

At 10.50am, a service will be held at the town’s Memorial Garden, located at Howell Drive, and will continue through to about 11.30am.

Welshpool Town Council staff will be holding a two-minute silence at noon at their offices located at the Tourist Information Centre.

An afternoon tea will be held at the Town Hall’s Assembly Room from 1pm-3pm. It is a free ticketed event with live entertainment on the stage, featuring pupils from Ysgol Gymreag Y Trallwng and Welshpool Church In Wales School.

To conclude the day’s events, the town’s beacon will be lit at 9.30pm atop Red Bank.
