Police respond to Red Bank concerns with speed checks

Following our story yesterday sharing the frustrations felt by key people trying to make Red Bank a safer place to drive and walk, police were seen conducting speed checks this morning.

Cllr Graham Breeze organised a meeting recently with several organisations to address the issue of road safety following recent incidents.

But he admitted the meeting left all involved feeling more frustrated with no quick fix identified to improve safety.

And, this morning, Welshpool's Neighbourhood Police team said on its social media: “Due to community concerns, Welshpool Neighbourhood Policing & Prevention Team have conducted speed checks on Red Bank in Welshpool this morning.

“We were approached by a number of residents to say they were happy to see us in the area.”

Welshpool Town Council is due to discuss the issue of Red Bank road safety tonight at its monthly meeting.
