Pupils raise thousands for charity

The Byw mewn Lliw - Live in Colour Day at Ysgol Bro Caereinion has proved to be another success, continuing to raise thousands of pounds for charity.

The school has been taking part in Cancer Research’s Race For Life for 16 years and have raised an incredible amount of money, supporting several charities that are very close the school’s hearts. Last year, alongside the cluster schools, they raised over £7,000 for the Lingen Davies Montgomeryshire Charity.

The 2025 Byw mewn Lliw turned out to be another fantastic day, from the hardworking sixth formers and staff, the kind Friends of the School, and of course, the amazing pupils - everyone had a smile on their face throughout the race.

“There was huge excitement on the day, with everyone dressed colourfully, with face paint and glitter everywhere!” a spokesperson told us.

“There was fierce competition between the pupils (and the staff!) but the most important thing was seeing everyone having fun. Remember too that the schools in our cluster also joined in on the fun and we thank them for their support.

“As a school and on behalf of the cluster schools, we would like to thank the pupils, staff, parents, and everyone for supporting us.”

This year, after discussions among the cluster pupils, the charities to benefit are the DPJ Foundation, Dementia Matters Powys, and Wales Air Ambulance.

The amount raised is incredible, currently at over £2,500 this year, meaning that since 2015, as a school - and now as a cluster - over £39,000 has been raised.
