Christmas tractor run WILL go ahead
After months of speculation over ‘will it or won’t it’, lead organiser Jenny Clarke confirmed last night that new key organisers will be supporting her and husband Kevin in making sure it will go ahead.
The event has become a popular fixture for our festive seasons, with around 200 tractors last year creating a wonderful spectacle through local villages, starting and finishing at the Livestock Market.
But the event had become a victim of its own success, and placed a huge strain on the Clarke family who called last year’s the grand finale.
But, following its success, with thousands of pounds once again raised for charity, several people have stepped forward to help and it was confirmed last night that Sunday, December 14, is the date that we will see it happen once again.
“We have been able to get help from a wonderful bunch of people, who are offering their time to get the tractor run going ahead with us this year. We are very grateful,” said Jenny.
“Lots to do and not a lot of time to do it in. (There is) lots more information to come over the coming weeks but we wanted to let you all know.
“We are so relieved and the pressure has certainly been eased. Let’s hope it’s an even bigger event than the previous four years. “
