Fire fighters were called to Welshpool High School yesterday, after fire broke out in a storage cupboard.
Crews from Welshpool, Montgomery and Llanfair Caereinion fire stations were called at 9.29am and spent the day extinguishing the blaze and ventilating the school.
“Crews responded to a fire confined to a storage cupboard on the building’s first floor,” a spokesperson for the service told us.
“Crews utilised four breathing apparatus sets, two hose reel jets and one safety jet to extinguish the fire. Crews then used one positive pressure ventilation fan to ventilate the building.
“We left the scene at 3.51pm.”
