Newtown’s town branding project continues to develop, with new displays now visible in Bear Lanes and plans underway for a video highlighting the initiative's success.
According to the latest progress report to Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council’s Economy and Environment Committee, the project team is continuing to “develop the Newtown Brand".
The report states: “Branding display [is] now in former WHS and New Look windows in Bear Lanes, along with the deckchair.”
It adds that a new video is being produced to mark the completion of the current phase of the project next spring. “A ‘NEW’ video is being commissioned to create a record of the brand implementation and will be released in March 2026 to coincide with the end of the current project. It will record where and when the brand is being used and we hope will feature interviews with lead Cllrs and others.”
The project is also working with local community groups to add creativity and local heritage to the displays. “Working with the community group ‘Knit and natter’ to display some of their previous work,” the report notes. “We have had a similar request from the local geology society to have a display of local fossils in a vacant shop window.”
The Newtown Brand project is part of the town’s wider Place Plan initiatives to promote Newtown as a vibrant and creative community for residents and visitors alike.
