Windy weather warning for Welshpool tonight

Strong wind and heavy rain are forecasted for the west of Welshpool tonight, with the Met Office putting yellow warnings in place.

Storm Bram is hurtling in from the west, bringing plenty of weather that will bring challenges to the west of Wales with the yellow warnings encroaching onto our MyWelshpool readership area.

The yellow warning for rain comes into play at 6pm tonight through to 2pm tomorrow, while the wind warning will start from 10pm, and will remain until 4pm.

Here’s what we can expect from a yellow warning for rain:

  • There is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses
  • Homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings
  • Fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, causing a danger to life
  • Delays or cancellations to train and bus services are possible
  • Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
  • Some communities may be cut off by flooded roads
  • Possible power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses
