Town Hall’s multimillion-pound future to be discussed tonight

Local residents, community groups and anyone with an interest in Welshpool are invited to attend a community workshop this evening to help shape the future of Welshpool Town Hall.

The iconic centrepiece of Welshpool is in urgent need of renovation, and with costs expected to top £5million, the Town Council wants to ensure that every resident has an input.

The workshop will take place from 5.30pm-7pm at the Town Hall, and is part of the Restarting Welshpool Town’s Heart project.

It marks the next stage in developing detailed plans for the restoration and redevelopment of the Grade II listed Town Hall, following the approval of Welshpool Town Council’s Expression of Interest to the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The workshop will give attendees the opportunity to:

• Hear an update on the project and what has been achieved so far
• Help shape activities, spaces and community uses
• Find out how to get involved as the project progresses

The session will be informal and interactive, with time for discussion and questions. No specialist knowledge or prior involvement is required – just an interest in the future of the Town Hall and the town.
