Residents will be able to join the Town Council’s bid to spruce up Welshpool over four days at the end of the month.
Cllr William Rowell has been liaising with Keep Wales Tidy to organise a Spring Clean Cymru event in four litter trouble spots.
Between March 20-March 26 on the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, Cllr Rowell told this week’s Events and Planning Committee meeting that litter picks will be officially organised.
He explained that risk assessments and final details were being put into place, but said the targeted areas would be the Bull Dingle, which he said had been left in a sorry state following the woodland felling, Buttington Cross fast food zone, an area from the Welshpool Information Centre to the canal and Oldford.
“I have sent letters out to businesses and other information will go out to schools etc,” said Cllr Rowell, who said he had received plenty of positive feedback.
“It’s all looking quite good and I will also be encouraging people to do their own litter picks during that time.”
He said that more information would be released nearer the date.
