No injuries following overnight smash

Dyfed-Powys Police has confirmed that there were no injuries reported following a single vehicle smash in the early hours today.

The A458 was closed from 2.20am following the accident at Buttington. Traffic has been diverted through Leighton as road repairs have continued throughout the day.

“The road was closed while officers attended the scene and there were no injuries reported,” a police spokesperson said. “The vehicle was recovered from the road at approximately 5.20am.”

Aerial visuals on the From Above Drone Photography Facebook page has shown the vehicle has appeared to hit the bridge crossing the River Severn, which could mean an extended closure of the road for safety work.
