Water company Hafren Dyfrdwy is to lift road closures for Montgomery's annual street fair this weekend.
The event, celebrating local performing talent and showcasing food and drink from the area, brings hundreds of people into the town each year.
Hafren Dyfrdwy is currently working on a stretch of the B4385, one of the main roads into the town from the south, as part of an £800,000 upgrade to a kilometre of mains water pipes.
To ease traffic for stallholders, performers and visitors, the closure will be replaced with temporary traffic lights this Saturday and Sunday.
The closure will be reinstated from Monday and will be in place until the work is finished - expected to be by the end of July.
Hafren Dyfrdwy’s Catherine Webb said: “Montgomery Street Fair is an annual celebration of local talent with music and dancing, alongside stalls selling locally produced food and drink.
“These are important improvements for the area’s mains water system but we know work like this can be disruptive.
“Recognising how important the fair is to life in the town and working alongside contractors Heartlands Pipelines, we are pleased to be able to ease restrictions for the weekend.”
