I’m back!

One of Welshpool’s most popular sportsmen has announced a dramatic return to the ring, just when his army of fans thought it was probably never going to happen.

Warren BigRig Sinden (pictured) has decided to return to boxing after nearly three years away because he felt he ‘owes it to my fans’ and said that every penny that he earns in his pursuit of a Welsh title will be handed over to charity.

MyWelshpool caught up with the unbeaten professional boxer on his hopes for what could culminate in a big night for the town.

“I've been away for a long time and I wasn't sure if I'd be back or not at times,” said Warren, who has spent the past two years building up an impressive boxing-themed fitness club called Rigorous.

“Rigorous has really snowballed and kept me busy! My manager (Jon Pegg) has supported me throughout my inactivity and understands the gym has been a focus and priority. I've stayed away from returning because I didn't want to come back just for a quick four rounder and a quick earner.

“I have always said I'm only coming back if it's going to lead to the Welsh title. I believe 100% that's achievable and possibly down the line a massive night for the town selling out the leisure centre.

“I'm going to be coming back on a bit of a twist too. All my fight purses I'll be donating to local charities/needs. Why? Because I've always enjoyed charity work, it’s great to help others and you can't get that same feeling from money.”

Warren was followed by an army of fans during his previous professional fights with many knowing his end was premature and hoping for this announcement to come.

“I know there's still plenty left in my tank, I've stayed fit and overcome a bit of a knee injury worry these past months. Why am I coming back? Because I want to lift the Welsh title in front of a sell out leisure centre in Welshpool and give the BigRig fans some more great nights!

“They deserve more and I plan on giving them plenty as I plot my route to a title shot. Currently we're having a look at a possible return to the ring in June at Aston Villa football club.”
