Welshpool’s battle to beat the drop from the North Wales Division Two was boosted by a timely victory at the weekend.
Pool closed the gap on Llangollen, the team above them, to three points after returning home from North Wales will a hard earned 23-17 victory.
The win means they are still in the bottom two but shows there is plenty of fight left in the lads yet.
COBRA, meanwhile, went out of the WRU National Bowl at the fifth round, losing to a strong Pembroke side 34-3.
