After a tremendous start to the year for the local rugby clubs, the weekend brought defeats for both Cobra and Welshpool in Division Two (north).
Cobra battled it out at Bangor but finished on the wrong end of a 27-20 result, despite holding a 15-10 half-time lead.
Welshpool returned home from North Wales empty handed, seeing their two-game winning streak end with a 55-5 defeat at Wrexham who pulled away from Cobra in third. The defeat leaves Welshpool hovering just above the bottom two.
