Ground passes inspection

Llanrhaeadr have passed their final test to allow football to be played at their home ground this season.

The side will be playing in the newly named Championship North League this season which is the ‘second division’ of Welsh football, having comfortably retained their place at the level last term.

It has meant considerable work was required on the ground, including a new stand, and last night the club broke the news that local football fans had been waiting for.

“The club has just passed its Ground Criteria Inspection by the Football Association of Wales,” said a statement. “Championship North League football will be back in Llan for 2019/20! A massive thank for you to all that have made this happen.”

Last season the club was widely tipped to struggle in the former Huws Gray Alliance, but stayed up with plenty to spare despite playing home fixture in Llansantffraid.
