Cup success for local sides

Llanfair United have booked their place in the next round of the JD Welsh Cup, and Berriew and Carno have also advanced in the FAW Trophy.

United beat Mynydd Isa Spartans 5-3 at the third attempt following two postponements, while Berriew and Carno both won 3-2 over Penparcau and Bow Street to reach the last 32.

Guilsfield are sitting pretty in the JD Cymru North top six following a 2-0 win at Bangor City, but Llanrhaeadr were the latest side to fall to free scoring leaders Prestatyn.

Llanidloes Town are now 10 points clear in the MMP Mid Wales League after a 6-1 win over Montgomery Town, while Waterloo Rovers smashed Presteigne 8-2 in the ER Jenkins Cup for second division sides.
