Arddleen have opened up a two-point gap at the top of the Montgomeryshire Airgun League after winning their top of the table clash, and seeing other rival, Guilsfield A, lose.

After losing to Crew Green B the previous week in the Cup, Arddleen bounced back to beat their fellow unbeaten rivals in the league 206.2-202.8, with possible scores from Nick Parr (Arddleen), Adam Hilditch and Mike Lewis (CGB).

However, the score of the night went to ‘Rampant’ Richard Lewis who scored a maximum 35.7 with seven perfect clean shots.

Guilsfield A saw their perfect start to the league ended by Churchstoke 204.5-202.1, with possible scores from Churchstoke captain and league chairman, Brian Davies, and also from Guilsfield A’s Aaron Knight and Andy Lawrence.

Newtown narrowly lost out to Crew Green A 196.4-197.4 with possible scores from Tabitha Corbett (Newtown) and Edward Kelton (Crew Green A).

Forden, looking for their first win of the season, lost out to Dai Tom’s Llanfair Caereinion side by 190.1-198.0.

The closest match of the night was between Guilsfield B and Castle Caereinion, with the Red Lion-based team just edging it 195.5-195.8. There was just one possible score in this one by Castle’s ‘ever dependable’ Richard Morgan.

Following Richard Lewis’s maximum score, he has leapfrogged Tabitha Corbett to the top of the individual averages with 35.28.
