Hockey Club maintain form

It’s been a decent start to the year for Welshpool Hockey Club, despite playing in exile at Newtown.

After a 1-0 defeat to Pwllheli when the ladies did everything but score, the results have come with a brilliant 6-2 win over Bangor followed by the weekend’s 3-1 win over neighbours, Llanfair Caereinion.

“Everyone is playing really well and we are starting to work together with some great performances,” said spokesperson, Gez Charles.

“We’re sitting fifth in the league at the moment and we’d like to finish in the top four or five, so a few big league games to go and we have the quarter-finals of the League Cup on February 22 against Ruthin.”
