OTMS (21)
A small entry of 21 Otm cattle this week selling to an average of 100.16ppkg. Top price per head in the Otm section was B Morris, Long Mountain Farm, with a British Blue 827kg cow making £901.43. Top price per Kilo in that section was G Price, Hafod, with a 626kg Limousin cow making £719 (115ppkg).
Cows 48 to 72 months topped at £952.90 for a British Blue cow weighing 733kg making £952.90 £130ppkg). Steers under 48 months topped at £889.20 (156ppkg) from S J Smith, Penybryn.
From Monday 29th February TB Tested Otm cows will be sold at 9 am in Ring 2, to be unloaded in bays 19 – 24. Followed by non-TB Tested cows in Ring 1, to be unloaded in bays 25 – 28.

An entry of 5012 prime hoggets selling to an average of 187.37ppkg
Super Lights (8) to 171ppkg from GE & T Davies, Carregybig. Average of 167.64ppkg.
Lights (163) to 187ppkg from S J Smith, Penybryn. Others to 184ppkg from JR & M Davies, Penisarllan. Average of 176.85ppkg.
Standards (626) to 199ppkg from C Tomlinson, Agden Dairy Farm. Others to 197ppkg from M E Thomas, Felincoed. Average of 179.31ppkg.
Mediums (2261) to 243ppkg from C Tomlinson, Agden Dairy Farm. Others to 215ppkg. Average of 189.74ppkg.
Heavies (1383) to 246ppkg from D I Roberts & Son, Stingwern. Others to 216ppkg from V Jerman, Gwernydd. Average of 188.42ppkg.
Over Weights (398) to 190ppkg from W T Davies, Canllefaes Uchaf. Others to 188ppkg from D P Casewell, Tanrhiw. Average of 168.97ppkg.

CULL SHEEP (1255)
An entry of 1255 culls this week met with averages of £66 for ewes and £75 for rams. Ewes topped at £120 for a pen of 8 ewes presented by W T Davies, Canllefaes Uchaf, Penparc. OT Evans, Delfryn, presented 4 ewes making £116. A similar entry of rams topped at £118 presented by S T Jones, Arllan Fawr. Probert & Probert, Lower Hill, also presented a ram making £118.
CULL EWE VENDORS: Please ensure all cull sheep are correctly identified when offered for sale at the market.
STORE LAMBS (235)
Another entry of 235 store lambs returning an average of £51.
A pen of 24 Charollais x lambs from E Rees & Son, Chruch House sold to £63 while A pen of Charollais x tup lambs from AP & JE Jenkins, Pontyperchyll sold to £69. Welsh wethers from HP & M Lloyd, Cilfachau sold to £57.50 with GKE Rees, Tynlone sold a Texel x mixed/clean lambs to £64.50.
Store lambs to commence again next Monday from 10.30am immediately followed by Cade lambs and couples.
COUPLES
The promise of better weather brought an increased entry of 148 couples with trade topping twice at £162, first from H W Johnson, Henblas, for 3 Suffolk 3 year old ewes with twin Texel x lambs at foot, and second from H C Roberts, Orseddwen, for 7 Mule as found ewes with twin Texel lambs.
Other highlights from R C Lloyd reached £155 for a Suffolk as found ewe with Twin Texel lambs at foot. A M Jones, Rhysgog, sold 4 improved Welsh Ewe with twin Texel lambs to £148 and 2 improved welsh ewes with twin lambs at foot to £139.
Ewes with single lambs topped at £120 for an as found mule with a single Texel lamb from H C Robers, Orseddwen, who also presented 3 as found mule with single Texel x lambs whicg sold for £114. Other notable singles presented by J B C Gwillim, Bwlch Garth, sold to £115 for 2 Suffolk as found ewes with Texel lambs at foot and £112 for 11 Texel as found ewes with single Texel lambs.

In-Lamb Ewes: A small entry of 30 in-lamb Beulah yearling ewes from G W Watkin, Henllys, due 1st April, scanned in-lamb to a Blue Face Leicester ram at 190% sold for £110.
The sale of couples next week will commence following the sale of store lambs.
STORE CATTLE
An entry forward of 185 cattle met with a solid trade for the lots on offer. There was a bigger gap between the quality of outfits and plainer cattle with the latter being harder to shift. Overall bullocks averaged 211.92ppkg or £867.38 and heifers averaged 189.13ppkg or £794.96. Leading the way with top prices per head were:
