Bedroom Browser promotes area

Eight and half thousand copies of a new publication, which is packed with information about things to see and do while visiting the area, have been distributed to tourist accommodation providers across the region.

The 2016 ‘Bedroom Browser’ guide is available in hotel rooms, guest houses, bed and breakfast, self-catering and caravan accommodation. It contains useful information about a huge range of attractions, activities and places to visit across Mid Wales.

The publication is produced by MWT, an independent organisation representing around 600 tourism and hospitality businesses across Mid and South Wales.

Advertising for the first time this year are Monty’s Brewery Visitor Centre, Montgomery and Welshpool, Llanfair Light Railway and the Gregynog Music Festival.

Advertisers who are supporting the new publication are featured in the ‘Great Days Out in Mid Wales’ section of the ‘Show Me Wales’ app and websites produced by MWT.

In addition to the ‘Bedroom Browser’, MWT has produced a pad of tear off ‘Show Me Wales’ information maps, which can be given to visitors staying in accommodation within the region.

The ‘Bedroom Browser’ has detailed information about everything from adrenalin pumping activities, national trails for walkers and spectacular wildlife and nature attractions to narrow gauge railways, arts and craft centres and heritage and family attractions.

“Having received an excellent response from advertisers this year, we are delighted with the finished product, which I am sure is going to be very popular with guests staying in accommodation across Mid Wales,” said MWT’s chief executive Val Hawkins. “The Bedroom Browser presents a good overview of the best that the region has to offer visitors.

“With 8,500 Bedroom Browsers in individual bedrooms, even with 50 per cent occupancy, we calculate that in excess of one million visitors will see them every year.”
