OTMS (46)

A larger entry of Otm cattle this week reaching a top of £1103.66 (139ppkg) for a Charolais Cow weighing 794kg from Roberts & Jones, Parc, Llangadfan. D Jones, Moelddolwen, presented a Stabiliser x cow weighing 735kg making £1065.75 (145ppkh). Cows 48 – 72 months topped at £1025.28 (144ppkg) for a 712kg Angus cow from DB & GM Lewis, Cefn Ceido.  R J Roberts, Dysefin Farm , presented a 38 month old Limousin heifer weighing 706kg making £1122.54 (159ppkg). ME & GDA Davies, Monksfield Farm, presented a 620kg Charolais heifer making £1097.40(177ppkg)

OTM Cows averaged 110.86ppkg / £704.72

Cows 48 – 72 months averaged 122.39ppkg / £793.94

Heifers under 48 months averaged 145.04ppkg / £930.42

Steers under 48 months averaged 156.60ppkg / £1070.61

Bulls under 72 months averaged 130.25ppkg / £1370.23

Overall average of 124.23ppkg


PRIME LAMBS (4721)

An entry of 4721 prime lambs selling to an average of 191.79ppkg.

Lights (434) to 222ppkg from A Hough, Brynbuarth Farm. Others to 207ppkg from B W Morris, Hoarstone. Average of 189.92ppkg

Standards (973) to 228ppkg from R A Davies, Llawnt Isaf. Others to 226ppkg from Red House Farm, Aberhafesp. Average of 188.48ppkg

Mediums (2806) to 243ppkg from R A Davies, Llawnt Isaf. Others to 223ppkg from E L Evans, Derlwyn. Average of  193ppkg.

Heavies (438) to 200ppkg from JM & BJ Langford & Son, Pwllan. Others to 199ppkg from J R Phillips & Son, Bank Farm & AA Colucci, Great Cloddiau. Average of 188.21ppkg.

Over Weights (21) to 187ppk from AA Colucci, Great Cloddiau. Average of 176.13ppkg.


CULL SHEEP (3512)

A good show of cull sheep resulted in averages of £55.17 for ewes and £62.10 for rams. Peaking at £110 was a pen of 13 ewes from CL & C Watkins, Bank Farm. DTA Williams, Upper Bolbro, presented a pen of 7 ewes making £110 also. An entry of 48 rams topped at £120 from W Beamond, Cwmcarnedd. Overall a large supply of all types of ewes were met by fairy strong demand.


STORE CATTLE

A small entry of 66 store cattle met with pleasing averages of 219.94ppkg or £865.83 for steers and heifers averaged 219.39ppkg or £899.48 per head.
