It was another busy day of trading at Buttington Cross on Monday and we bring you all the prices:
OTMS (47)
A good show of 47 Otm cattle this week, topping the otm section was R P Ryder, Rhiwhiriaeth, for a Charolais cow weighing 829kg making £1152.31 (139ppkg). Also from the same home was a Charollais weighing 848kg making £1102.40 (130ppkg). P L Harrison, Neuaddlwyd, presented a Limousin weighing 798kg making £1077.30 (135ppkg). Cows 48 to 72 months topped at £888.06 (123ppkg) for a British Blue weighing 722kg from JD & MR Buckley, Rhiwgoch.
A limousin heifer under 48 months topped at £1009.89 for a Limousin weighing 687kg from W I Jones & Sons, Cilcwm Fawr. T E Lewis & Son, Abergwenlas, presented a 29 month old 571kg Aberdeen Angus making £942.15 (165ppkg).

Cows 48 to 72 months (x4) averaged 108.41ppkg / £682.73
Heifers Under 48 months (x5) averaged 132.39ppkg / £780.58

PRIME CATTLE
4 prime cattle forward this week selling to a top of 248ppkg twice for two limousin heifers weighing in at 600kg and 546kg respectively, from JM & SM Rowlands, Dolwen Farm. Overall average of 179.12ppkg.
PRIME LAMBS (4657)
An entry of 4657 prime lambs sold to an average of 162.91ppkg.
Lights (369) to 175ppkg from CE & R Emberton, Coedtafol. Others to 158ppkg from AG Roberts, Abernodwydd. Average of 137.09ppkg.
Standards (891) to 211ppkg from D E Morgan & Co, Cefntwlch. Others to 199ppkg from Red House Farm, Aberhafesp. Average of 157.24ppkg
Mediums (2157) to 213ppkg from DE Morgan & Co, Cefntwlch. Others to 203ppkg from Red House Farm, Aberhafesp. Average of 167.95ppkg.

CULL SHEEP (2454)
A good show of cull sheep this week seeing averages of £43.99 for ewes and £73.37 for rams. Ewes topped at £112 twice from DW, VM, & JW Jennings, Castellan Farm. H D Morgan, Lower House, sold ewes to £98.
STORE LAMBS (1246)
A slightly increased entry of store lambs this week. Topping the sale at £74.50 was a pen of 20 Charolais x lambs from J & R Davies, Old Hall.Theave lambs topped at £66.50 for 3 charollais lambs from F L Cooper, 4 Belan Limekiln. Wether lambs topped at £65.50 for 8 mule lambs from S Lewis, Mildway. Tup lambs topped at £66 from C J Newey, Mount Pleasant.
Theave Lambs (216) averaged £51.94
Mixed and clean lambs (587) averaged £57.07
Wether lambs (54) averaged £49.74
Tup lambs (380) averaged £50.24
BREEDING EWES (116)
A very small and seasonal entry of breeding ewes and ewe lambs. There were 9 as found Beulah ewes forward from M Maiden, Cildyfnog, making £53. Ewe lambs topped at £84 for 19 mule ewe lambs from W & R Lewis, Springfield. 12 Suffolk Ewe Lambs from TEP Jones & Son, Old House, Kerry presented a run of 33 ewe lambs reaching a top of £82.
Ewe lambs averaged £73.58 throughout.
DAIRY CATTLE
Another small entry of dairy cattle met with a sound trade as a little confidence creeps back into the industry. Leading the way at £1640 was a Pedigree heifer ‘Henllys Oak Fancy’ from GW Watkins, Henllys, Dolybont, from the same home was ‘Henllys Silver Poppy 2’ selling at £1520. Presented by WA & EM Morris, Maestanyglwyden, was a Red Holstein heifer that sold for £1080.
