Beauty salon in awards running

It has been an incredible year for Powys’s ‘Best Start-up Business’ of 2009, which could culminate in the Welshpool company winning a second prestigious accolade. Pure Beauty: In the awards running

Sarah Rowlands, with 12 years experience as a beautician, made the ambitious move into business in 2009 and has not looked back.

Now the 27 year-old, the brains behind the Purebeauty organic beauty salon, is in the running for the 2010 ‘Young Entrepreneur Award’,

“It has been an incredible year which was boosted by winning the award in 2009 for best start-up.” Said Sarah. “It has certainly helped us to become established and we now welcome clients of all ages – both male and female - from across Mid Wales.”

Business has boomed. The salon has developed to include three treatment rooms and two nail bars along with a spray tan room. It has even experimented with late night opening, until 9pm, which has proven very popular.

Sarah hopes to expand her business into a chain and her ambition has caught the eye of the Welsh Business Insider Magazine which has included her as one of the ‘Rising Stars’ of 2010.

Purebeauty will face some stiff competition for the 2010 prize. A mobile hairdresser from Trefeglwys is in the running along with impressive Welshpool web design company, Gloversure.
