PRIME LAMBS (3801)

A similar entry of lambs forward sold to return an average of 228.12ppkg, with a top price of 253ppkg for pen of lambs weighing 39.50kg making £ from J Edwards, Mount Farm, and £123.50/head for 54kg lambs from AE Casewell, Bodynfoel.

A similar number of lambs forward sold to a better than expected trade with yet again a good number of buyers present which ensured competitive bidding throughout the sale on all weights and grades. Best trade of the day was for the lighter weight lambs under 34 kilos which found strong bidding throughout especially for the better bred lambs. Heavy weight lambs also in good demand mostly due to very few of these being on offer. As normal, best quality lambs sold to a strong trade with all export buyers looking to buy these types. Vendors are encouraged to keep drawing lambs, of any weight, especially the better meated lambs. Hopefully trade will remain strong as most people are on top of numbers, and as we lead in to the end of July Quarbani festival.

VENDORS ARE NOW ENCOUAGED TO DRAW BETTER QUALITY TUP LAMBS SEPARATELY.
