Royal Oak’s app-y staff

Staff at The Royal Oak are going through an innovative new training and development programme supported by a purpose built unique App which has been launched by The Coaching Inn Group.

Head of Learning and Development, Lee Melton, said that through the new five-tiered programme, it was now possible for any employee to progress through the leadership programmes to a senior management position.

“We have redesigned all of our development programmes to ensure they are suited to the current hospitality climate, and focus on the core skills needed for a learner to be able to further their career.” he said.

“The App will enable the learner and his or her manager to be in complete control of their development programme.

“It is also structured to promote peer-to-peer learning and will give every member of the The Royal Oak team who embarks on the programme complete confidence over their progression.

“At a time when the hospitality industry is being hit hard, it is important to focus on the people that work with us, and promoting internal progression has always been one of our strengths,” he said.

Mr Melton said there were no time limits on any of the five stages from leading a shift through to operational management and strategic planning so individuals could progress at their own pace and each programme could be tailored to each learner’s needs.

“We have always lived by the phrase ‘Unlocking Potential’, with a proud focus towards people so the launch of the new programmes and the app is our next stage in pioneering careers and career progression within the hospitality industry,” he said.
