Jobs bonanza for Welshpool area

08/11/2011 @ 10:25

An award winning family run home care company will open its doors in Welshpool this week bringing around 50 jobs to the area.

Radis Community Care will be supporting Powys County Council to provide home help to the elderly and vulnerable adults in Welshpool and the surrounding areas including Llanfair Caereinion, Llanfyllin, Montgomery, Berriew, Forden, Guilsfield and Newtown.

It will provide support for a wide range of vulnerable people with the focus on support to the individuals to encourage and enable them to complete practical and personal care tasks in their own homes.

The company already has several offices in South Wales and the new Branch Manager, Lauren Bailey, is excited at getting the service up and running and believes that they can make a real difference to care in the Welshpool area.

"We are a team of local people looking forward to providing reliable, first class care to people in our community. We’ll be working in partnership with Powys County Council, other practitioners and providers and are also able to provide services privately.

“Personally I am really looking forward to getting my team out into the community and making a positive difference. The team has been handpicked for their great personality, skills, abilities and values. They have also received an excellent training package, as you’d expect from a company that’s won several awards for its standard of care and delivery of quality care services.”

So far, just over 20 people have been employed locally and Radis is looking to increase that to more than 50 staff members.
