New and expanding in the Welshpool area are invited to a regeneration event to find out about new development grant schemes on offer.

The county council has launched two new schemes designed to encourage new and established businesses to expand by offering start-up and expansion grants.

The evening will be held at The Elephant and castle, Newtown tomorrow (Tuesday) between 3-7pm and all businesses are welcome at anytime.

Cabinet Member for regeneration, Councillor Wynne Jones said: “The aim of the events will be to find out more on the new Business Development Grant Scheme launched by the county council to help new and established businesses in the county.

“It is hoped the schemes will help create jobs by encouraging existing businesses to expand. Grants are available for established businesses and new businesses.

“As part of the drop-in event, there will be an exhibition with information about support and financial advice for business start ups and existing businesses.

“There will also be an opportunity to find out more about the Welsh Government’s Supplier Development Service which is dedicated to helping businesses create effective trading relationships and assistance in winning private and public sector contacts,” he added.
