16/09/2010 @ 07:48
Staff from an independent company representing 500 tourism businesses in Powys, Ceredigion and Meirionnydd are on their way to Welshpool on their annual series of roadshows.

Mid Wales Tourism (MWT), supported by the Tourism Partnership Mid Wales, is teaming up with Finance Wales and the Welsh Language Board to hold seven trade days across the region to meet existing and prospective new members.

Finance Wales will provide advice on business development issues while the Welsh Language Board will outline the help available to encourage the use of the Welsh language in tourism businesses.

The meetings begin with a Mid Wales Tourism Trade Day at the company's headquarters at Machynlleth Railway Station on Tuesday, September 28, and will be at The Loft at Coed y Dinas on October 8, where a huge range of information will be available to businesses.

The event, which begins at 11am, will include a variety of short presentations with plenty of time for questions, discussion and lunch.

There will be individual advice sessions with the Welsh Language Board and the Guestlink Cymru team. Guestlink Cymru is an online booking service for accommodation providers.

MWT provides a range of services to help members develop and market their businesses, whilst also giving them access to exclusive membership discounts.

The other meetings in the series, which all begin at 11am, are on Thursday, September 30 at The Royal Ship Inn, Dolgellau; Tuesday, October 5 at The Four Seasons Hotel, Aberystwyth; Tuesday, October 12 at The National Trust Llanerchaeron; Thursday, October 14 at Crickhowell Resource Centre and Tuesday, October 19 at CARAD, Rhayader Museum.

"The meetings are a valuable opportunity to provide a marketing update to our members and to discuss all the latest news and developments in the tourism industry," said Val Hawkins, MWT's chief executive

"It's important that we receive a business update from our members following the summer season and hear what else they think we can we do to help them."

Anyone planning to attend the meetings or wishing to take advantage of the one-to-one advice sessions is asked to contact Lynda Crunkhorn at MWT on on Tel: 01654 702653 or by email at lyndac@midwalestourism.co.uk.
