Celeb becomes our 700th ‘Tweep’!

 

Our Facebook account has been instrumental in boosting our visitor numbers since we launched in August 2010, with almost 2,300 followers on our page. But the emergence of Twitter has accelerated our reach to a whole new audience.

 

Twitter is becoming increasingly more popular locally and, last night, TV weathergirl Sian Lloyd became our 700^th follower.

 

But in fairness to Sian, she has been a close follower of both mywelshpool and mynewtown since we launched and unwittingly helped us reach the milestone last night.

 

As we approached the 700 mark, several new members were joining and then Sian’s name came up as the 700^th, but she admitted afterwards: “I was already a member but accidentally ‘unfollowed’ and then quickly clicked “follow” when I was online!”
