Invertek pick up national award

26/04/2013 @ 10:10

Welshpool based manufacturer, Invertek Drives, was the only Welsh business to win a prestigious UK Energy Innovation Award at the 2013 finals held in Manchester.

Invertek won the Best International Trade award for export sales of its range of compact variable speed drives, used to control the speed of electric motors.

Invertek’s ‘Optidrives’ can significantly reduce energy consumption in industrial, HVAC and pump applications by matching motor speeds to the exact requirements of each application.

Production Manager, Eddie Hartley, collected the award on Invertek’s behalf.

The Best International Trade Award, sponsored by UKTI, aimed to recognise businesses which are taking steps to ensure that international trade becomes a significant proportion of their business, as well as those where import and export already plays a major role in their operation.

Invertek Drives, the only Welsh company to make it through to the final, won the coveted title because of the huge energy saving potential of its products and its outstanding performance in export markets.

Established in 1998, Invertek now sells its products in more than 80 countries worldwide through a network of international sales partners; export trade currently accounts for more than 90% of the independently owned company’s business.

Sales and Marketing Director, Rhydian Welson, said: "We are delighted to have won this award. We devote a considerable amount of resource to developing global markets by working closely with our international sales partners to build Invertek’s brand profile. The energy saving potential of our drives is a key message that underpins all of our global communications activities.”
