Even in our wildest dreams we could never have predicted that mywelshpool would prove such a hit and we are still growing!
Your free source of on-line news for the local community is just two months old and with the assistance of Google, we can track the exact number of people who have visited our site. And the figures are staggering.
Since launch, we have welcomed over 5,000 individual users to the site. Many of you visit us regularly and, in fact, we log up 1,000 people on the site every day with an average time of five minutes spent reading the latest news, business, sport and features.
Our monthly hits (which are the number of pages you read) are fast approaching 100,000 and each week, a staggering 3,000 individual users visit mywelshpool. At a time when newspaper sales are dropping we have had to invest in a new technology to cope with the volume of traffic.
The site is expanding fast to provide a better service to you. This week we are launching the localsabroad feature which will focus on locals who have flown to pastures new and you will have noticed our localdirectory is getting on its feet too. Soon we will be sharing with you all the best local places to eat and drink as well.
Businesses and tradesmen are turning to us to get their message across to their next customer and we want to help by providing the best value-for-money advertising there is. All we ask you to do, as the visitor, is to support our advertisers to ensure that your local businesses and tradesmen are well supported. The directory is growing and our new friends are already providing positive feedback. Click on their banners to find out more information about them.
Our Facebook Group has swelled beyond 1,400 members who receive a daily evening bulletin and will soon be eligible for some great freebies. If you are not already on our group, go to Facebook and search for mywelshpool and simply ‘like’ the page to be a part of the most exciting local group since the Welshpool Dictionary.
In a nutshell, mywelshpool has enjoyed an incredible launch and we look forward to growing with your support over the coming days, weeks, months and years.
And, remember, our success relies heavily on the support of the local community so please keep the news coming in. You can send it to
editor@mywelshpool.co.uk.
It is a pleasure to keep you up-to-date 24/7.
Best regards
Mywelshpool team
