Owen’s to close Welshpool shop

 

Owen’s Travelmaster is to close on December 23 as part of a company restructuring that will see the shop’s manager move to Newtown.

 

Managing Director Mike Owen has reassured customers that it will not affect holidays booked through the Welshpool office and added that a new service will be launched for local residents soon.

 

He said: “Due to company restructuring, I regret to inform that our Welshpool branch office will be closing on December 23. Our head office in Oswestry and branches in Newtown and Whitchurch are unaffected by this closure.

 

“Our Welshpool branch manager will be joining the Newtown branch immediately after Christmas and, early in the New Year, we will be launching our ‘Holidays at Home’ service where a member of our staff will be able to visit customers in their own home to discuss and advise on their travel plans.”

 

The shop’s closure will leave a big hole in the town centre due to the shop’s location at the heart of the Broad Street.
