20/01/2011 @ 11:11

Activities at  Welshpool Youth Centre are thriving and a new sports hall is under construction

The Youth Centre offers a wide range of activities for all young people aged between 11 and 25.

"We offer pool, table tennis, table football, 10 internet connected PCs, cooking facilities, information service, Sky TV, an X box, a chill out area and a coffee bar for refreshments," said Gwen Evans.

"The Forum group meets regularly to discuss issues regarding the centre and other concerns they may have. They recently attended the Police and Community Team (PACT) meeting, which enables young people to have a 'say' on community based issues."

Members are going to watch Wales Under 21s play Northern Ireland on the 9 February at the Racecousre Stadium, Wrexham. The cost of this trip will be £3.
The Skate Park is a very popular facility which is used by skateboarders, BMX bikers and Skaters. The floodlights are on most nights when the weather is dry.

"The Sports Hall is currently under construction at the side of the Centre and will be opening in March," added Gwen.

The club is open on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings between 6:45pm and 9:00pm. If you would like to join us please go along or for more information please ring Matt on 07884312052, email matthew.evans@powys.gov.uk or Gwen on 07866 807766, email gwen.evans@powys.gov.uk
