Music Festival day in Welshpool

28/05/2017 @ 09:40

Welshpool has woken up to glorious sunshine to welcome the annual Music Festival with eight venues signed up to host 44 bands playing over 40 hours of music.

The event is being dedicated to the memory of Ian Scott, who became a firm friend of the festival having played with his band The Infamous. Sadly he died last year.

Today The Green Dragon, Pheasant, Angel, Talbot, Fabrizio’s, Bay Tree, Wellington and Pinewood will all be hosting a day of music with the full schedule of acts available on the official web site http://www.welshpoolmusicfest.com.

“As usual you'll find an incredible range of talent performing at several fantastic venues across our humble town throughout the day,” said the organisers in a statement.

“Please do try and catch some of the acts performing - it's all free!”

Charity donations are being taken throughout the day at venues, but the onus is very much to come out and support the local bands performing and businesses.

Publicans will be operating a plastic glass policy on health and safety grounds. The glasses can be purchased for £2 in The Baytree, The Talbot, The Pheasant, The Pinewood & The Angel. Once you've made your purchase, it can be reused in all venues.
