£2k raised by walkers

Local walkers raised a healthy sum taking on a West Wales hike last month.

Organised by Wendy Jones of Welshpool, the sponsored walk started off with seven walkers (right) going from Barmouth along the Mawddach Trail to Dolgellau, before more joined them on the return to Barmouth (below).

A total of £1,998 was handed over to Air Ambulance thanks to Barclays Bank agreeing to double the initial amount of money raised by the walkers.

“We’d like to thank everyone who did the 19-mile walk; everyone who donated and Barclays Bank for match-funding for such a worthy charity,” said Wendy.
