Over £31,000 was raised at an auction and entertainment evening held in memory of Montgomery young farmer James Corfield.
The event was held at Welshpool Livestock Marker with organisers from Norman Lloyd Estate Agents hoping to raise £10,000 for the Brecon Mountain Rescue Service.
The rescue team was heavily involved in the search for James, whose body was discovered in the River Wye at Builth Wells during the Royal Welsh Show back in July.
A spokesperson for Norman Lloyd said £25,000 was raised at the auction with a further 6,000 coming through a raffle and donations.
