A local band that has released its third single this week has managed to ‘hook’ quite a following.

Frozen Cabin is made up of Billy Spencer on lead vocals (Welshpool), Charlie Cooke playing piano (Newtown), Nick Owen on guitar (Newtown) and Lee Morris on drums and backing vocals (Guilsfield).

Videos for their first two singles attracted almost 40,000 views on Facebook, but the early interest in their latest single – Headlights – is set to take the band to new levels with over 11,000 views already since its weekend release.

“We have been together for nearly two years now,” said Billy. “This is our third video, and the first one Nick, our newest member, has been involved in and it has been received really well.”

The lads have picked up quite a following and their previous hit, The River, grabbed the attention of a prominent fan.

“The well-known fisherman Matt Hayes is doing a film about the River Severn and is using The River for it,” added Billy. “He also wants to meet us and has just shared our new video to his Facebook page.”

The band has played a number of charity gigs this year by putting themselves up for auction which has raised £500 for the James Corfield fundraising efforts and £600 through the Andrew Lloyd Football Day in Forden.

“We’ve been shown some tremendous support and would like to thank everyone who has been there for us,” added Billy.
