Music Festival headliners revealed

With a little over a week until Welshpool is rocking to the sound of dozens of bands playing free gigs at numerous venues across the town, Welshpool Music Festival organisers have revealed the headline act.

Local indie/rock band, The Nuclear Lullaby, will be playing at The Talbot from 9pm, but there will be a whole host of live acts playing through Bank Holiday Sunday (May 27).

“This is our ninth year of The Pub Sessions and this year we have confirmed 66 individual performances across seven venues, with some 72 plus musicians coming to our town,” said a Festival spokesperson.

“The venues will be The Monkey Puzzle Cafe in Puzzle Square, The Wellington, The Pheasant, The Bay Tree Cafe, The Angel, Fabrizio's Restaurant and The Talbot.

“This musically diverse festival attracts bands and solo artists of all calibers, not only locally, but also nationwide. This family friendly event saw record numbers flock to our town last year and we are proud to announce that once again we recorded no trouble, arrests or injury, just good music and fun!”

This year, there are plans to stream many of the venues online and organisers are already looking at ways of how the festival can grow in the coming years. The festival is once again dedicated to Ian Scott, a musician who played the Festival several times but sadly passed away.

A full schedule can be found on the event web site or through their Facebook and Twitter pages.
