A high quality entry of 63 bulling and reared calves for Halls’ March Youngstock Sale once again met a very strong trade throughout from the strongest bulling heifers to the reared calves.

Fifteen Buyers were forward looking to secure the quality heifers that were on offer and a great trade resulted.

Top price on the day was a Non Pedigree 17month Bulling Heifer from Winsbury Livestock Ltd. This non pedigree heifer by Graffiti came from a line of Pedigree Winsbury females who had given 10000kgs as heifers, she was secured by M J E Hughes of Criggion, who secured three on the day.

At ringside Halls were pleased to welcome two young couples who are planning to start milking in the near future, one of these was Sevenside Milkers who secured 5 Winsbury bred heifers the pick being a daughter of Ladysmoor Graffiti at £900, she was again from a dam who had produce over 10000kg in her first 2 lactations.

The final consignment from the dispersal sale of AH Francis & Son consisted of 36 commercial heifers from six to 16 months old and met a fantastic demand from returning purchasers who’d had the opportunity to purchase before.

The breeding programme was designed to produce the Holstein Friesian Cow, with milk, high constituents and longevity with an ability to graze.  This policy had resulted in very appealing youngstock topped at £810 for a 10 month daughter of Olmar Jeeves Dare, secured by Mr Huw Roberts of Wrexham.
