Connecting people through tea and song

03/04/2019 @ 09:48

The latest afternoon of ‘Tea with Old Time Singing’ was held in Llanfyllin on Friday in the Library & Community Building, organised by Sheela Hughes, the local PAVO Community Connector.

Julie Evans led the singing, Pauline Page-Jones accompanied and Linda Ward assisted with the teas. A particular treat was a beautiful waltz by Jane and Len Jones to celebrate their 60th Wedding Anniversary.

The Mayor of Llanfyllin, Cllr Simon Baynes, said: “I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. Singing together lifts your spirits and it was lovely to see Jane and Len dancing so beautifully. Congratulations to everyone involved in organising this wonderful event. Long may it continue.”

Sheela added: “Tea with Old Time Singing is open to all senior citizens in the town and surrounding district. It is held every six weeks and the next event is on May 10. Please come and join us for an afternoon of music, tea, chatting and laughter.”
