The oldest woman in Wales officially opened a new Summer house at Llys Hafren Residential Home today.
108 year old Lilly Conroy, a proud native of Manchester, moved into the Welshpool care home less than three months ago and as the oldest resident was handed the honour on unveiling the new garden Summer house.
Residents, staff and visitors applauded as Lilly, who will be 109 in June, cut the ceremonial ribbon.
Welshpool veterans Ted Jones, a 99 year old resident of the home, and Jack Ellis were also on hand to watch as the home manager Bea Wickstead introduced Lilly before the official ceremony.
