Young Musician of the Year

Montgomeryshire Youth Music (previously North Powys Youth Orchestra) is holding its first ever Young Musician of the Year competition.

Taking place this Saturday at Newtown High School, there will be categories for Piano, Strings, Brass, Woodwind and Vocalists with cash prizes for winners. Accompanists will be available on the day. 

The final will take place as a free concert from 6pm.

“We are very excited to now be offering this type of experience in Montgomeryshire to celebrate our talented youngsters when music is in such a threatened position within the school curriculum,” said Sian Edwards, Concert Band conductor for Montgomeryshire Youth Music.
